Dear Friend,

Momentous times are approaching! However, the good news is that after a horrendous period of worldwide cataclysm, this very troubled world will finally discover extraordinary peace, true security, overflowing prosperity and profound happiness. How? Not by the actions or efforts of human beings or their institutions, but rather through the direct intervention of the Eternal God in the affairs of men.

Jesus Christ is coming! He is returning to earth to rescue men—to literally save us from ourselves (Matthew 24:22). Along with His resurrected saints, the Messiah will install His world-ruling, perfect government. He will eradicate spiritual blindness and begin to instruct young and old alike in His holy laws. He will bring abundant comfort and joy to all families, races and nations. That is God's message to the world today. We seek to announce this wonderful good news of the soon-coming Kingdom of God!

Some of our most recent efforts to reach more people with this message include distributing Good News brochures on Good Neighbor displays in more than 3,000 major supermarkets and discount stores in 46 states, as well as sending subscription offers to American Baby readers and homeschooling families.

The September/October issue of The Good News has gone to press, and will soon be available on our Web site and through the mail. Articles include "Jerusalem: Center of Conflict, Center of Peace" and an interview with a noted expert on Jerusalem's Temple Mount, Leen Ritmeyer. Another article asks, "Could Jesus Be Elected President?" We also wrap up the series on the horsemen of Revelation with a look at the intriguing "Fifth Horseman."

Two other articles of note discuss the biblical festivals that occur during September and October: "The Biblical Festivals That Show How God Will Bring World Peace" and "The Biblical Feast of Trumpets: Foretelling 'the Day of the Lord.'"

The gospel message includes this wonderful knowledge of God's blueprint for the future of humankind. The United Church of God, which sponsors The Good News magazine, will soon portray that coming peaceful world by participating in God's annual fall Holy Day season.
